We’re baaaack! Welcome to the fifth edition of the Run America Newsletter. We skipped the Spring and most of the Summer and are ready to take the Fall head on! Please accept our apologies as we have been working on improving the app. That said, expect a HUGE present come Christmas! For now lets get into what’s going on this Fall in any around the New York Metro area.
 

Before we get started lets take a moment to familiarize you with Run America. Simply put this is the last “place” (hopefully) you will need  to Refine, Register and Record your events. When we say “place” you can use the Run America website or mobile app to find exactly the type of events you’d like to run, walk, participate in whenever and wherever you are. Take a look at the video below to get a head start on doing just that!

 

9/2, Arboretum Run
. The 31st Glen Rock Jaycees Arboretum Run will be held on Monday, September 2, 2019. We look forward to another successful event this year and will have some additional family activities for all to participate in. Signature events will be the 5K, 1 Mile and the Fun Run. We have continued to work in the off season to improve on this yeasts races for this year, I hope you all will join us.”

9/2, The Labor Day 5K and our presenting sponsor at the law firm of Askin & Hooker, LLC are proud to present the 4th Annual Labor Day 5k Run in beautiful Sussex County, NJ! The event will be held on Labor Day, Monday, September 2nd, 2019, at the Lake Mohawk Plaza in Sparta, New Jersey. We are excited to present a great race that gives back to an amazing cause. Participants can show off their speed and skills while helping us to preserve our natural resources and support organizations like the Lake Mohawk Preservation Foundation! The inaugural race in 2016 raised over $20,000 for the Lake Mohawk Preservation Foundation, and we look forward to another successful year.

The Seeing Eye 5K Run/Walk returns… to the Morristown area, Saturday, September, 7th. Upgraded with a 1-mile dog-friendly walk now located in downtown Morristown, and the return of a picturesque USATF Certified course, the event is truly something to “see”! This year’s event registration and awards has moved to Vail Mansion in downtown Morristown, and check-in and t-shirt pickup is now available for all pre-registrants before the event. Seeing Eye puppies for you to pet and play with, a free face painter and a DJ make this event fun for all ages! The event is pulling out all the stops to ensure a good time for all walks of life!? 

Those looking to join the event may run or walk as an individual, or invite their friends, family or colleagues to participate in a Doggy Dash team. Turn your participation into a fundraiser and be eligible for some really nice prizes! Can’t run, but want to be involved? Volunteering opportunities are available. 9/8, Interested in Running the “fastest” Half Marathon in North Jersey! You will want to check this one out! Nough said!

Crimestoppers 5K/12K. The Augusta State Fairgrounds will be alive and kickin with hundreds of runner/walkers supporters, police and rescue runners!  Crimestoppers will pay up to a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and indictment (as opposed to conviction) of criminals.  5K Run/Walk and 12k Run is open to all with strollers and certainly enjoy the DJ and good food! Awards to top 3 Male/Females in both events, 10 year age groups to 80+ and youth 11 Under, 12-14, 15-19.  Team awards to corporate, open and service departments.  Both 5K and 12K are USATF NJ sanctioned race at 500pts.  The 5k is flat and the 12K is easy rolling and flat with beautiful scenery!

RWJBarnabas Health and the New Jersey Devils have teamed up to support the health of New Jersey through Running with the Devils 5K Run and Walk. This event brings together participants from across the state and supports the collective commitment of RWJBarnabas Health and the New Jersey Devils to build healthier communities by promoting healthy, active lifestyles and world-class healthcare. Proceeds from the event will benefit programs and services at RWJBarnabas Health. RWJBarnabas Health is the official healthcare provider of the New Jersey Devils.

Krogh’s Annual Turkey Trot.
Come Thanksgiving morning our North Jersey Spartans will engage and run their 11th Annual Krogh’s Turkey Trot. It’s the Tradition before the Tradition! It’s also the 3rd largest turkey trot in NJ so if you are thinking bigger is better you just might be right. Garden State Runs has voted the Krogh’s Turkey Trot the #1 Thanksgiving Day Run in NJ! Registration is open so get your morning run in before the feast ensues!

12/8, Jingle Bell Run Wayne. Get jolly for a reason at The Arthritis Foundation’s Jingle Bell Run Wayne taking place on Sunday, December 8th at the Passaic County Technical Institute. Jingle Bell Run is a festive 5K that raises funds and awareness to cure America’s #1 cause of disability. This event is perfect for the serious runner, corporate team building, as well as friends and families supporting loved ones with arthritis. Tie jingle bells to your shoes and come run or walk the event. The funds raised are crucial to advance arthritis research-to discover new treatments and a cure, faster than ever! 100% of your registration fee and fundraising efforts go to this great cause! For those that have not heard the news the 2nd Generation of the Run America mobile app is now available in the iTunes Appstore and Google Play. The Run America app is your one stop for everything “running”. Here you can refine, register and record (coming early 2019) your events. Any event that requires you to “move your feet” will be in Run America at some point (that is unless the event chooses not to???). Every walk, run, across all known terrains, from sea to shining sea, is destined for Run America. Run America is presently working to integrate all multi-sport and variety runs too! The idea behind RunAmerica is simple. Provide an app that can filter through all known events, including a strong profile of preferences, to find the event that you want when and how you want it. The current version of Run America brings together all the events from RunSignUp, Active and Race Entry into a single interface. Runners be sure to check out the app now so you know when its time to run. Race Directors we’ve got your FREE BIB program now that Road ID has started to charge for their bibs!!!
